Dr. Yoginee Budhkar is the cofounder at one of the first meaderies ever to be conceptualised and second to be executed in India.

She has led the reform in the policies introducing mead as an alcoholic beverage with the state Excise department in Maharashtra. Subsequently these policies have been adopted by other states in India

With her partner Dr. Ashwini Deore, Dr. Yoginee cofounded Cerana Meads in 2016.

Their meads were launched in November 2019, and are available in 5 markets, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune and Nashik as of Jan 2022.

She has taken training in basic and advanced mead making from University of California, Davis. She has also trained in business of mead making from UC Davis.

Dr. Yoginee has completed 3 courses in commercial bee-keeping and is a beekeeper herself.

Her areas of expertise span over a broad spectrum, including mead making, training in mead making and honey tasting.

She is experienced in tour designs for the meadery, branding, marketing and sale.

She was a CSIR NET fellow and University topper during her Master of Science course in Zoology and Molecular Biology in University of Pune.

She along with Dr. Ashwini was awarded Madhukranti 2021 award for achievers in beekeeping and related businesses given by Baswant Honey Garden and Training Centre, Nashik

She was awarded the Kartuttva Abha award in March 2024.

Her other interests involve dance, sitar, gardening and baking.
