Ashok joined Amrut Distilleries in 2004 and assumed the position of Head of Distilling in 2019 with complete responsibility for single malts and premium brands, from distillation to blending and bottling. He is single-handedly responsible for the creation of, to name a few, the ever-popular Amrut Spectrum, and Naarangi, from conceptualization, production, branding and packaging.

He was awarded with the ‘Icons of Whisky’, Whisky Ambassador of the Year in 2012 and 2016 by Whisky Magazine, U.K. He is the only one who represents India in the World of Whiskies and got this coveted award twice. Ashok was also awarded with Master Distiller/ Master Blender-India of the Year 2022 by Whisky Magazine. 

Ashok has wide workplace experience in several fields, including information technology (IT) and engineering plus academic qualifications in Mechanical Engineering and Business management. He is an active member of the Institute of Brewing and Distilling, London and pursuing his Diploma in Distillation.
