Co-Founder & CEO
Uppal Brewers & Distillers

Ankur Sachdeva is the Co-founder and CEO of Delhi-headquartered Uppal Brewers and Distillers (UBD), founded with the vision of building coveted, premium-only alcobev brand. With over 25 years of experience in the alcobev industry, Ankur brings deep expertise in general management, operations, and business development across domestic and international markets, with a particular focus on premiumisation and market expansion.

Before founding UBD in late 2024, Ankur’s career spanned marquee roles across William Grant & Sons, Radico Khaitan, Kajaria Group, and Allied Blenders & Distillers (ABD). He was instrumental in introducing Glenfiddich and The Balvenie to India during his tenure at William Grant & Sons, and later leading Radico’s national on-trade strategy, now a core growth pillar for the Company. At Kajaria, he built a new consumer business from the ground up, and while at ABD, he steered revenue operations through a crucial pre-IPO phase as Chief Revenue Officer.

A consistent cord throughout Ankur’s career has been an appetite for risk-taking and a track record of building high-impact ventures, from launching new brands and business divisions to pioneering sales channels and scaling operations across markets, including India, Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Global Travel Retail. These experiences have culminated in Ankur taking an entrepreneurial leap with the creation of UBD.

At UBD, Ankur oversees strategy, operations, and growth, with a hands-on role in blend development, brand building, and distribution. He is currently leading the company’s flagship launches: SOORAHI, a premium Indian whisky that reflects the country’s evolving modern palate, and MADHVAN, a bold new blend of Indian grain spirits and fine Scotch malt crafted for India’s aspirational consumer.

Ankur is a graduate of the Wharton Advanced Management Program (AMP), and is based in Delhi with his family.
